Ralph Terry Passed Away!

Ralph Terry an American Major League Baseball player died on March 16, 2022 at the age of 86 leaving family and fans in deep sorrow.

We are shocked by the death of Ralph Terry, a great person, great pitcher, and golfer. The cause of his passing away is yet to be confirmed! His funeral will be held at Gray Funeral Home in Whitmire!

 

Baseball fans around the world have been distressed by his death. His death news was shared by his fans and friends.

Ralph Terry was the American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball. He played for four teams and was remarkably noticed for New York Yankees.

 

He was the professional baseball player, pitcher, and golfer and was known to be the golden member of the New York Yankees. He upheld 23 victories for American League in 1962 and was named World Series MVP.

 

He was also known by the distinguished moment of surrendering the walk-off home run to Bill Mazeroski, that received the 1960’s world series for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also was famous for playing for the Kansas City Athletics, New York Mets, and Cleveland Indians.

 

At the later stage of his life, he became a golfer and time-honored the 1980 Midwest PGA championship. He was qualified for and played in four PGA Tour events in 1981 and 1982, as the PGA of American Sectional championship. In 1986 he started playing on the senior PGA Tour, and in 1989 he tied for 10th in 1989 Showdown classics.

His remarkable journey as a sportsman included 257 games started, 75 finished, 20 shutouts, 446 bases and 11 saves on balls in 1849.1 innings that he pitched in his career.

 

Nick Diunte shared the heartbreaking news by quoting, “I met Ralph Terry twice, the first in Newark, at Bears stadium and 09 (pictured with bobby Richardson and David Mantle), and the second one was at the Winning Beyond Winning Dinner. He was a great storyteller as indicated in his book, “Right Down The Middle” #RIP.”

Terry had also the insurance business for many years and lived in Larned, Kansas, but continued to play golf as a hobby after retirement.

 

His unexpected death has made his fans, family, friends, and all loved ones in deep grief, sorrow and we all are heartbroken after the public announcement of his death.
